WW: Captain Cancer Fighter

So I suppose I owe you a few words, I hate breaking the rules! The week of Halloween I was hosting a fundraiser for the Relay for Life/Cancer Society. This was my costume and we raised over $500, so it was worth it!

RTT: Banshee and Thanks!

randomtuesday

Bubba was whining one morning before Roy left and Roy said to him, "You sound like a Banshee!" I asked Bubba, "Do you know what a Banshee is?" He replied, "It's a guitar." (He was thinking banjo.)

Out of the blue, Debby at Just Breathe gave me an award:

Thank you Debby!!

I would also like to hand this out to a few constant commentors also. Since Debby already received it, she doesn't get it again, even though I appreciate her punctuality of visiting my blog.

AF: Winter Blues

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. At least that is what I get the gist of it is. If you want to know more - click on the flowery picture.

Do you like winters?

I have to say a big fat NO, since I grew up in Florida and am now living in Indiana. The icy roads that I have hurt car on every winter and the snow days that are not as fun as they look on TV. When I first moved here, I thought, "Yay the kids get to see what snow is and we can go sledding." Then reality set in and I couldn't drive down my street because my car would get stuck in the icy snowbanks and our HOA is terrible and don't pay for anyone to plow until a day later. Okay, I will stop complaining now. My hubby left this morning for a permanent job in Mississippi and I have to be Super Mom by myself through the winter - I just realized. We are still married and are doing the long distance, see each other every so often thing for a bit. We have done it before, it just sucks! I will try to be more chipper in the future Fridays, I promise!

Spin:Confessions of a Distracted Mom

Jen at Sprite's Keeper gives a topic that you can spin on; this week’s topic is Parental Confessions. If you want to spin too, just click on the button above and it will take you to Sprite's Keeper.
When MJ was a baby, I would put her in a sling on my back and mow the lawn. One time, I accidentally stood up and hit not just my head but hers too, on a tree limb. She was fine, just shocked by the rude awakening. (To prove she is fine, she just got straight A's on her report card.)
I had taken the kids to Walleyworld (I spend a lot of time there.) Bubba had to use the bathroom. He was still potty training, so we hightailed it to the restrooms in the back of the store. When we were done, I quickly got him dressed, washed, and ready to check out. The slow walk to the front was un-eventful. When we got to the register, Bubba announces, "Mommy my peepee hurts!" I looked to see what was wrong. His little hose had gotten stuck in the waistband of his pants. (I felt so embarrassed and sorry for him, but I couldn't stop laughing.) I know I should be ashamed, but it was a learning experience - make sure the hose is tucked into the underwear.
I quickly learned when the kids were little, that church is a great escape. The kids have fun and are well taken care of (for free). I get the chance to have a moment of peace, quiet, and adult interaction.
When my sister got pregnant, she asked a lot of questions. I sent her the "What to Expect When You Are Expecting". She asked more questions. That book gives way too much information for a frazzled, worried pregnant woman.
Those are all the confessions for today. I don't know a lot, but I have learned quite a bit.

RTT: Bubba Says!

randomtuesday

Bubba is our talker right now, he voices all his opinions, questions, and thoughts - boy are they random and hilarious! MJ is our thinker right now, when it is important, she'll let us know.

After trick-or-treating we were discussing candy. He said,"These are suckies, because they suck!" (He was talking about suckers/lollipops.)

Roy was trying to get Bubba to answer him on something he did, he asked me, "Is he playing dumb with me?" Bubba interject, "I'm not playing dummy!"

When Bubba was younger, he would complain that his foot was beeping. We couldn't figure out what he was talking about at first. Then realized his foot had fallen asleep and he could feel the pulse and tingling in his foot. The only way he knew how to describe it was that it was beeping. (He sat on his foot anytime he sat in a big chair.)
